Executive search firms in Latin America: a ranked comparison (2026)

Disclosure: T-mapp publishes this comparison and is one of the firms in it. Every firm, T-mapp included, is scored with the same ten checks, and each check can be answered from the firm's own website; every mark below links to the page we read. No ratings, no reviews, no weighting: one point per check. Ties go to the firm with offices in more Latin American countries, then alphabetical order. Checked on 21 October 2026, quotes re-checked on 28 October 2026; reviewed by Pablo de Sagarminaga, co-founder of T-mapp.

For companies hiring a leader in Latin America: which firms run executive search in the region, what each one publishes about how it works, and what it is best for, in its own words.

T-mapp is an executive search firm for mid-management, senior, director and C-level positions, working from Bogotá, Madrid and Los Angeles, with experience running searches in more than 20 countries. It works with T-mapp's Smart Search, its proprietary methodology, through a six-stage process from understanding to retention. See the method.

The ranking

  1. Korn Ferry · 7/10 checks · offices in 8 Latin American countries. Best for: Large organizations wanting executive search bundled with broader talent consulting (assessment, RPO, interim, professional search).
  2. Boyden · 7/10 checks · offices in 5 Latin American countries. Best for: Senior leadership searches for privately held, family-owned and mid-cap organizations.
  3. T-mapp · 7/10 checks · offices in 1 Latin American country. Best for: Mid-management to C-level searches with a published six-stage method and a written shortlist commitment.
  4. Amrop · 6/10 checks · offices in 14 Latin American countries. Best for: Retained senior searches through locally owned partner firms, including Central America and the Caribbean.
  5. Stanton Chase · 6/10 checks · offices in 8 Latin American countries. Best for: Partner-led retained searches for VP, C-level and board roles.
  6. Heidrick & Struggles · 5/10 checks · offices in 3 Latin American countries. Best for: Retained, exclusive searches for VP, C-suite and board roles.
  7. Russell Reynolds Associates · 5/10 checks · offices in 3 Latin American countries. Best for: C-suite and senior executive searches with a published shortlist timeline.
  8. Page Executive · 4/10 checks · offices in 7 Latin American countries. Best for: C-suite and senior hires (permanent and interim) backed by a large recruitment group.
  9. Spencer Stuart · 4/10 checks · offices in 6 Latin American countries. Best for: Board and CEO-level leadership searches and board advisory.
  10. Egon Zehnder · 3/10 checks · offices in 5 Latin American countries. Best for: CEO, board and senior leadership appointments within a one-firm leadership advisory model.

The ten checks

  1. Executive search is a core service. The firm's own site names executive search (or retained search) as a core service.
  2. Office in Latin America. At least one Latin American country on the firm's own offices page.
  3. Offices in 3+ Latin American countries. Three or more Latin American countries on the firm's own offices page.
  4. Site in Spanish or Portuguese. The site, or its Latin American section, is published in Spanish or Portuguese.
  5. Search process published step by step. The site describes its search process as four or more named, ordered steps.
  6. Numeric service commitment published. The site states a specific number the firm commits to, such as days to a first shortlist.
  7. Fee model stated. The site says how fees work (retained, success-based, milestones…). No amounts needed.
  8. Mid-management in scope. The site explicitly covers mid-management, not only board, C-suite or VP roles.
  9. AESC membership stated. The firm's own site states membership of the AESC (Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants).
  10. Founded 10+ years ago. A founding year of 2016 or earlier, stated on the firm's own site.

A check counts only when the firm's own site says it clearly. Partial answers, such as a generic description of how searches “typically” run or a fee mention that is not about the firm itself, score zero. “Not found” means we did not find it on the firm's own site when we checked, not that the firm doesn't do it.

If footprint and track record matter most

Counting only checks 2, 3, 9 and 10 (offices in the region, AESC membership and years in business), the order changes:

  1. Stanton Chase · 4/4 · 8 countries
  2. Boyden · 4/4 · 5 countries
  3. Amrop · 3/4 · 14 countries
  4. Korn Ferry · 3/4 · 8 countries
  5. Spencer Stuart · 3/4 · 6 countries
  6. Heidrick & Struggles · 3/4 · 3 countries
  7. Russell Reynolds Associates · 3/4 · 3 countries
  8. Page Executive · 2/4 · 7 countries
  9. Egon Zehnder · 2/4 · 5 countries
  10. T-mapp · 1/4 · 1 country

Choose the checks that match your search: a board appointment across several countries weighs footprint and track record; a mid-management or director search often weighs a published process, a written shortlist commitment and clear fees.

Also in AI answers, but a different service

These firms appear when buyers ask about hiring in Latin America, but they describe themselves as nearshore recruiting or staffing services rather than executive search, so they are not ranked here:

  • Lupa: “We’re not a headhunter. We’re a recruiting partner built in Latin America” Best for: Nearshore tech, AI and business hires in Latin America for global companies.
  • Hire With Near: “Hire With Near is a staffing and recruiting agency that helps US companies hire remote talent from Latin America” Best for: US companies hiring remote LatAm talent at cost savings, from individual contributors to Director/VP.

Questions

How were the firms selected?

Firms that describe executive search as a core service on their own site and list at least one office in Latin America, starting from the firms that AI answers and buyers name for executive search in the region, plus T-mapp. Firms that describe themselves as staffing or nearshore recruiting services are listed separately.

Why isn't T-mapp first?

Because the order comes from the checks, not from who publishes the page. T-mapp has one office in Latin America (Bogotá) and was founded in 2020, so it scores lower than larger firms on footprint and track record.

How do I choose an executive search firm for a role in Latin America?

Check whether executive search is its core service and for which levels, where in the region it works, whether it publishes its process step by step, what it commits to in writing and how fees and the guarantee are set. More in our FAQ.
